John Russo

Writer of the original Night of the Living Dead

With twenty books published internationally and nineteen feature movies in worldwide distribution, John A. Russo has been called "a living legend."  He began by co-authoring the screenplay for NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD  which has since become known as a "horror classic."  His three books on the art and craft of movie making have become bibles of independent production, and one of the them, entitled SCARE TACTICS, won a national award for Superior Achievement in Nonfiction.  Quentin Tarantino and many other noted filmmakers have unabashedly stated that Russo's books have helped them to launch their careers.

John Russo wants people to know he's "just a nice guy who likes to scare people" -- and he's done it with novels and films such as RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD,  MIDNIGHT, THE MAJORETTES, THE AWAKENING and HEARTSTOPPER.  His novel MIDNIGHT was published in twenty-five languages, and the movie, although made on a very low budget, got excellent reviews, attracted a "cult" following,  and has been kept in constant release on VHS and DVD by Lions Gate.

George Kosana

The Sheriff from Night of the Living Dead

George Kosana, in addition to his duties as Production Manager, starred as Sheriff McLelland in the horror and zombie classic, The Night of the Living Dead, where he delivered the now immortal line, “They’re dead! They’re all messed up!”

George also played an abortionist front man in George Romero’s follow-up movie, The Affair, which was a romantic comedy. He continued his acting career with roles in The Booby Hatch, The Devil and Sam Silverstein, and other independent films. In December 2012, he acted in his most recent film – that project is not yet finished.

G&G (Guiney and Grimes) Band From TV

D&D Sluggers

Chiptunes, the electronic music subgenre based in the 8-bit audio chips of archaic video game systems, is still something of a Web-geek phenomenon, ripe for the nostalgia fetishes of '80s-babies and geeky punchlines.

But in the hands of D&D Sluggers, who use a Nintendo Gameboy and a Nintendo DS, chip music provides layers of chirpy synths and percussive pulses that do more to suggest than resurrect the sounds of some kid's basement in 1988. That level of nostalgic playfulness is a thematic muse for the band, which aims to explore the "inner adult/ child duality of the kids of the '80s who have come of age."...

Co-opted chiptunes have already provided ground-level punchlines...and the geek-rock thing has been done to death in the wake of Weezer. D&D Sluggers seem to have found an approach that offers more than 8-bit gimmicks and comic-shop in-jokes. —Bryan Reed
